How To Fix Ricoh Printer Offline Error On Windows 10: 4 Easy Methods

Ricoh Printers are known for providing high-quality printing and it is an easy-to-use system. With the help of this laser printer, you can perform multiple tasks like scan, print, scan, and fax. But at times, you might note that the printer is offline. 

Ricoh printer offline? The prime reason is that the computer and the printer fail to establish a secure connection. Furthermore, due to internal error, the printer might stop functioning. And, if there are pending print jobs in the queue, then it can lead to a technical glitch.

Solution 1: Change the Printer Settings

In most of the cases, the offline error occurs, if you change the printer settings. Irrespective of being wired or wireless, this problem can occur. So, to avoid that, you need to change the printer’s settings. 

One needs to perform the below-mentioned steps in Windows 10 to get back the default printer settings.

  • Go to the Start Button at first. From there, go to the Search Bar and write “Control Panel”. Hit the “Enter” button next to get into the Control Panel Window. 
  • In the Control Panel Window, locate the “Devices And Printers” option. Tap on it and check if the correct model name of the Ricoh Printer is there in the “Default” section. 
  • Once you find the name of the Ricoh Printer, right-click on it and choose the “See what’s printing” option from the drop-down menu.
  • You need to remove the unfinished tasks. (Only if there is any). Now, move to the queue window and then go to the “Printer” tab.
  • Tap on it and make sure you have unchecked the “Use Printer Offline” option. 

Note: If you notice that the “Use Printer Offline” option is unmarked, check the option. Wait for a while and then uncheck it again. 

After checking and unchecking the necessary options, make sure the printer is connected with the computer. And for that, it is necessary to check if you have put the USB cables plugged in the right port. 

Restart the devices and put A4 size paper in the paper tray, tap on the “Print” button and check if the offline error is popping up on the screen. If you are still getting the error, then move to the next section. 

Solution 2: Restart the Spooler Service

The printer won’t function properly if the Print Spooler Service is not working. In most of the cases, it was noticed that, if the spooler service is somehow turned off by the user, the offline error can occur.

Thus, you need to check if the Print Spooler service is running. If it is not, then you might need to restart the service. To do that, you have to implement the below-stated steps carefully:

  • At first, you need to hold the Windows and the R key together to open the Run dialogue box.
  • When the Run dialogue box opens, write “services.msc” and don’t forget to hit the “Enter” button.

Note: You can even tap on the “OK” button to get to the Service window.

  • When the Service window appears on the screen, search for the “Print Spooler” service.
  • Once you get it, right-click on it and from the drop-down menu, select the “Restart” option. 

After restarting the Print Spooler service, you will be able to remove the error from the Ricoh Printer. But, if the offline message is still popping up, then you need to check the below-mentioned method. 

Solution 3: Change the Printer Properties

If you somehow change the printer’s Properties, the printer will stop responding. In such cases, you simply need to change the Properties. 

It is quite simple, all you have to do is:

  • Go to the Start button and from there move to the Control Panel.
  • Look for the “Device and Printers” option in the Control Panel window. 
  • Right-click on it and from the list of options, tap on the “Printer Properties”.
  • Move to the “Ports” tab and choose the IP address o0f the Ricoh Printer from the list.
  • Tap on the “Configure Port” button right after that. Also, make sure the “SNMP Status Enabled” option is unchecked. 
  • Lastly, tap on the “OK” button to save the recent changes in the printer’s properties. 

After changing the printer’s property settings, you can continue doing your print jobs. But, if the error still persists, then you must check the printer driver. It might be possible that due to a faulty printer driver, the printer is not working properly. 

Solution 4: Uninstall and Install the Printer Driver

The corrupted printer driver can be a reason why you are getting the “offline” error continuously. And uninstalling the printer driver is the only solution in such cases. 

After uninstalling the printer driver, you need to install the latest printer driver to allow Ricoh Printer to function properly. 

Follow the below-mentioned steps to uninstall the printer driver from the device. 

  • Go to the Control Panel at first and then tap on the “Devices and Printers” option.
  • Search for the Ricoh printer and once you find it, right-click on it.
  • Now, from the drop-down, menu, select the “Remove Device” option. 
  • A confirmation message will pop up on the screen next. Click on the “Yes” button to confirm the action. 

Once you are done with removing the printer, open a web browser. From there go to the address bar and search for the latest printer driver for Ricoh printer. Download it on the device and then open the setup file to install the printer driver in the device. 

After installing the current version of the printer driver, you will be able to resolve the offline issue.
